Sessions with Shared memory(mm) broken?

It seems that saving Sessions to shared memory doesn't work.
If I try to enable the mm handler, the session module complains about
not being able to initialize and the corresponding apache process core
dumps.
This is with the latest PHP4 CVS on Solaris 7.
File based sessions work fine.
Another sidenote: During compilation SUN's cc chokes on
#define ps_mm_debug(a...)
mod_mm.c, line 60
Had to remove "a..." to get it to compile.
