Subject: [PHP4BETA] Problem with MySQL/PHP4
| I upgraded my apache from 1.3.9 to 1.3.12 and php
| from 3.0.14 to 4.0b4.
| I have mysql 3.22.32 that is working fine in
| console :
|
[connection working cut out]|
| But when I try to access them from apache I
| receive:
|
| > Warning: Can't connect to local MySQL server
| through socket '/tmp/mysql.sock' (111) in
| db_mysql.inc on line 73
| > Database error: pconnect(localhost, sesion,
| $Password) failed.
| > MySQL Error: ()
| > Session halted.
|
| I have mysql installed in /usr/bin
| & /var/lib/mysql.
| One thing I noticed is that mysql(console) looks
| mysql.sock in /var/lib/mysql (where actually is)
| and apache looks in /tmp.
| How can I explain apache where to look for the
| socket? I think that's the problem. Isn't it?
My guess is you should basically rebuild php --with-mysql=/var/lib/mysql
Am I right, anyone ?
Cheers,
Lukasz
