ClibPDF Support in PHP4b4pl1

I'm trying to use ClibPDF library with PHP4b4pl1 and am having apache seg fault every time I do a cpdf_open(), there isn't any error except a seg fault (no core). Apache 1.3.12 , PHP4b4pl1, ClibPDF 2.02-r1-2 I'm wondering, has anyone had any success using the ClibPDF 2 library with PHP4? I currently use the onler ClibPDF 1 library with PHP3 on our productions servers, I know the API changed with the version 2 release -- everything compiled fine though it does seg fault when I try to use it :-) Thanks! -Mitch
