Hello,
Now that I finally managed to work around Zend incompatibilities with PHP 3
in a meta-programming compiler engine that I am developing, I could
experience incredible benchmark improvements with Zend that you may like to
know. This compiler engine is particularly CPU intensive as it parses XML
files processes the parsed data that is compiled and generates PHP scripts
and data of other formats.
Just a simple example for the manual and the tutorial of Metabase package
that consists of about 250KB of XML source code between document data and
output definition code, the results are as follows:
PHP | XML cache | Zend Optimizer | Total execution time| Relative performance
3 No N/A 390.6s 1
3 Yes N/A 360.7s 1
4 No No 44.5s 8.7 times
4 Yes No 31.4s 11.5 times
4 No Yes 32.7s 11.9 times
4 Yes Yes 22.7s 15.9 times
Isn't this amazing or what? Congratulations guys. Well done.
Keep up the good work,
Manuel Lemos
