Adabas D is still supported via ODBC, only the functions ada_* have
dissapeared.
I cannot say anything about performance / scalability of the PHP/Adabas
Combo.
Connection pooling should work - but remember that due to apaches
multiprocess environment you can easily end up with as many database
connections open as running apache child processes.
Unfortunately, there are some unresolved issues with LONG handling in
the driver libraries, at least under Linux. I have tried several
versions of the client libs and they all have problems (out of memory)
when doing heavy LONG-field fetching.
