Trying this list now, if this isn't the right place, could someone point
me to a better place? I've tried the forums at zend.com and phpbuilder.com,
but haven't solved the problem yet.
I'm trying to install php4 as a module in apache, on a solaris machine.
The problem seems to be that after the "make;make install" of php, the
stuff in apache/src/modules/php4 (e.g. mod_php4.c) has #include statements
that do not work with the subsequent build attempt of apache.
Not only does the php include path not get put into the Makefiles, but
also the subdirectories under which the files are installed (e.g. zend.h
is under a subdir "Zend") are not reflected in the .c file or other .h
files. So, even when I "fake out" the apache configure process by setting
an envvar INCLUDES="-I/web/php/include/php", only some of the .h files are found (the ones in that directory, not the ones in subdirs of it).
One other clue: when I further hack the INCLUDES var to explicitly list
the individual subdirectories, then more .h files are (obviously) found.
*However*, further along in the make process, I get complaints about two
more .h files, "main.h" and I think "php_variables.h", which are not
installed into the php directory at all. They do exist in the source
dir, but aren't installed.
I'm using --prefix=/web/php for the php config/install.
I've tried having the GNU tools both before and after the sun compiler
tools in my PATH.
I do receive a warning that bison should be upgraded (we're at
1.24, the warning states 1.25 is needed for some functionality).
I read the warning as just that, a warning, and not the cause
of failure. Am I wrong about that?
Apache version 1.3.12.
Any hints or pointers would be greatly appreciated at this point, I've
been beating my head against this wall long enough! :-)
Thanks much in advance...
