Hmmm....
I've successfully compiled php4b4pl1 with apache on Solaris
7. However, I have only been successful compiling php as
apache dynamic (apxs) module, when I try to do it as a
statically built module I run into trouble.
In general, a successful strategy is to:
1) completely build apache with mod_so support
2) completely build php with apxs support
(e.g. --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs )
3) then modify the httpd.conf file to load the php4 module.
It sounds to me like you're doing:
1) configure apache
2) build php and (--with-apache=../apache-3.1.12)
3) build apache.
