I followed the directions. I put the php4isap.dll in the inetserv
directory. The problem has something to do with adding the php4isapi.dll to
the filters in IIS. As long as I associate the extension .php with the
php4isapi.dll, it processes the files okay. But if I have the php4isapi.dll
in the filters, it will not start (with the php.ini in the windows folder).
I've found that if I do not have the php.ini file in the windows folder, it
just does not give a message. The php4isapi.dll is still not loaded when
looking at the filters.
What is exactly gained by adding the php4isapi.dll to the filters in IIS?
I'm assuming better preformance by having the dll already loaded in memory.
How significant is this? I guess that if I can get it to work, I should be
happy, but it bothers me that some can get this to work correctly while I do
not seem to be able to.
Here is the Dr. Watson error message that is given when trying to start IIS.
inetinfo.exe
Exception: access violation (0xc0000005), Address: 0x77f05130
There is also a system error 1067 given.

No. I just followed the instructions which came together with the
binaries and it worked. Double-check that you did everything exactly
as in the instructions.
F.i. did you put the php4isapi.dll really in the inetserv dir? I did
that as well but the instructions do not tell to do so. (Well, so I
didn't follow the instructions to the letter ;-).
If everything seems to be like it should - maybe you have a corrupted
file?
