I'll add to that by saying that installing 4.0 RC1 with xml, wddx, ftp, gd, mcal, mysql, oracle, snmp, and odbc went about as smoothly as any install I've ever been a part of . The documentation was great and the install was so simple a newbie should be able to do it. I also installed on a SuSE 6.3 system. I blame a lot of the problems people have on sloppily put together Linux distributions. If SuSE can do one thing, it's put out a distribution where everything runs out of the box. The PHP team really has done a fantastic job one this software. It's easy to use, powerful, and with PHP4, Real Damned fast.
