*HELP!* - strange error never seen before

Sorry for the panic, but I've installed PHP3 and PHP4 many many times, even on this same server, and today as I try to install a new PHP4 I'm getting this error, pasted below. Please any clues what it means? ((I'm sitting here @ the co-location building right now, stuck!!)) I'm using Linux-Mandrake 7, which is the same as RedHat 6.1. I've installed PHP4 successfully on this same server just a few weeks ago, doing nothing different that I know of.
