The biggest headache I've had with developing this is trying to deal with the immense number of possible combinations of platforms times the number of server APIs (apxs vs cgi vs servlet) times the number of Java vendors times the number of JDK levels. Add to that the number of install options users may have. Example: adding the JDK libraries to the java.library.path works with the Sun 1.2.2 JDK on Windows but not the Sun 1.1.8 JDK on Windows or the Sun 1.2.2 JDK on Linux. This creating a makes "one stop solution" a bit difficult, but I will continue to try to improve the instructions. Note: the hard part is starting the JVM. For this reason, sapi/servlet is much easier to configure. > I install the Java module, and add the current statement in PHP.ini > > [java] > java.class.path="c:/jdk1.2.2/jre/lib/rt.jar;C:/PHP/php_java.jar;" > extension=php_java.dll > java.library.path="C:/jdk1.2.2/lib;c:/php;c:/jdk1.2.2/jre/lib;" > java.library="C:/jdk1.2.2/jre/bin/classic/jvm.dll" > java.home="c:/jdk1.2.2/" My experience to date was that java.library.path, java.library, and java.home were not necessary on Windows, but I added that support "just in case". I'm glad to see it helped you. > I can run jver.php from the DOS prompt and from browser, but jawt.php > from the browser. > > But If I execute in the DOS prompt, the java application, Zend with the > Hello button appeared. jawt is not intended to be run from the browser. I'm sorry for any confusion. I've updated the sample to make it more clear. - Sam Ruby
