Does the JPS communicate thru Apache via socket because the JSP we are
evaluating uses the HTTP that ships with Tomcat. I knew that there would be
some degradation but our inhouse benchmarking shows PHP is slower by almost
a 1.25 sec. By the way how do you benchmark we would like to use an industry
standard?
thanks!michael

If you are serving static content, Apache or IIS is a much better way to
go.
PHP extensions are hand written in C code, so may run faster than their
Java counterparts.
In many applications, most of the time is spent in the database.
