Hello all,
since shortly after the release of PHP4b3, I am able to repeatedly crash
Apache with a statically linked PHP, or at least produce anomalies in
delivering content.
Unfortunately, I am not able to pack it into a small example, as the script
I am experiencing problems with was already quite large when the bug was
introduced into PHP.
I am talking about phpChat (http://www.phpwizard.net/phpChat). Setting up
this application with any recent version of PHP (newer than PHP4b3) will
result in Apache to indefinitely eat up resources (both CPU and/or memory)
or simply stop responding, even to new HTTP requests.
If anybody would be willing to work on this, I'd be glad to assist in
setting up a test environment.
Till
