Ok. Now it's solved. Thanks also to Uwe and Stefan. I've used: - php4.0.0 downloaded from www.php.net, not the latest cvs :-( - Linux RH 6.1 - Apache 1.3.12 - libxml2-2.0.0 The process that worked: 1) Compile libxml2 with zlib $ cd libxml2-2.0.0 $ ./configure --with-zlib=/usr 2) In the file php-4.0.0/ext/domxml/php_domxml.h Replace the line #include <gnome-xml/parser.h> with #include <libxml/parser.h> 3) In the file php-4.0.0/configure Replace the line #11089 with: test -f $withval/libxml/tree.h && DOMXML_INCLUDE="$withval/libxml" 4) Compile php $ cd php-4.0.0 $ ./configure --without-gd --with-apxs=/usr/local/apache/bin/apxs --with-dom=/usr/local/src/libxml2-2.0.0 --enable-wddx $ make $ make install Then restart httpd. NOTEs: Probably the latest version taken from cvs does not require all the steps. At the step 4 read eventually the note in the faq about the broken apxs script. This is not good documentation.
