I think it would be best if we sort out all of the technical issues
related to PHP 4.0 Beta 1 as soon as possible, so that as soon as we have
the Zend license ready, we can go on with it.
The issues I have in mind:
1. UNIX build process for dynamic modules. July 1st is gone, Stig,
should we wait for this (i.e., is it going to happen within about a week
or so) or should this wait for Beta 2?
2. Apache issues:
- Make relative Apache paths work again (it shouldn't be a problem,
using cd $path and obtaining cwd).
- Ensure APXS is working right
- Prepare a conversion script that converts PHP 3.0 .conf/.htaccess
files to be both PHP 3.0 and PHP 4.0 compatible, using IfModule.
3. Portability issues
- Figure out if Solaris gcc still crashes compiling cgi_main.c, and if
so, why. I have access to a Solaris 2.7 box so I'll try to check it
myself.
- Figure out if the beast works under most operating systems. We know
for a fact that it works under Linux and Win32. Anybody running it
successfully or unsuccessfully on other platforms - please report in.
4. Anything else you can think of...
