The current CVS of libzend+php4 now builds completely out of the
box on the above mentioned platform. You need to install autoconf
and automake from your next GNU mirror, but that shouldn't be a
problem (i.e. I have them installed in my home directory).
ranlib is behaving a little bit strange. Observe this:
ar cru libphpext_db.a db.o
ranlib libphpext_db.a
ranlib: warning for library: libphpext_db.a the table of contents is empty (no object file members
in the library)
make[2]: *** [libphpext_db.a] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
It prints out a warning, produces correct output (well, as far
that's possible with no symbols), but exits with an error code.
Simply rerunning make is enough to complete the build.
That's maybe related to the failing autodetection of ndbm which
should be available on this BSDish platform (/usr/include/db.h is
stock BSD).
armerge also produces some strange output, but it seems to work.
autoconf's test for struct fields seems to always use -rdynamic.
gcc ignores it, so it's not a big deal.
All normal builds work (CGI, static Apache and APXS).
Is application/x-httpd-php-source supposed to work? .phps does
seem to be handled by x-httpd-php (i.e. the script is still
executed). In httpd.conf:
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php3
AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps
In htdocs:
-rw-r--r-- 1 sascha users 58 Jul 3 05:49 test.php3
lrwxr-xr-x 1 sascha users 9 Jul 3 06:00 test.phps -> test.php3
The symbolic link doesn't play any role. I think I saw the very
same behaviour on Linux some time ago, so this doesn't seem to be
platform specific. Tried static Apache and APXS.
Thanks to Chad Cunningham for providing me with accounts on
Solaris 7 and now on Rhapsody.
