There isn't, but it doesn't contradict each other. If you discuss bugs on the list, and only there, if they don't get solved (and they usually don't) - your bug gets lost in the mail, literally. If you put it in the bugs database, we'll get around to it sooner or later. It shouldn't prevent you from mailing the list if you think your bug is likely to be common enough. Not to let you down, though, the chances of finding others who've experienced similar bugs at this time is very low - it was only released a couple of hours ago.
