6.1. I get a similar error when trying

I was getting that error after correcting a previous error concering the
location of some mysql libraries. I was fixing the mysql library error, and
then running into that one.
In the end, because I don't really know what's going on with this type of
thing, I just deleted the apache and php4b build directories and restarted
from scratch after first fixing the mysql libraries problem by adding
/usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql to my /etc/ld.so.conf and running ldconfig.
(If you do this, don't forget to use your corrcet path to your mysql libs)
Once I'd done this, I unpacked apache and php4b again and this time it was
fine all the way through.
