Greetings, I would like to start using PHP4 but I am running PostgreSQL and need the fix the pg_fetch_array/pg_fetch_row fix that just appeared in 3.0.12. I understand that the core PHP was a complete rewrite to make PHP4, but were the PHP4 libraries rewritten as well? Do I have to stick with 3.0.12 for now to get the fix? They weren't rewritten, however, the PHP 4.0 tree has branched away from the PHP 3.0 tree in version 3.0.5. I manually applied all of the 3.0.6 patches, but it became pretty much impossible to do with 3.0.7 and later. The various authors would have to do it themselves. PHP 4.0, as far as function modules go, is a hybrid of PHP 3.0.6, 3.0.6->3.0.12 patches, and new patches&code. It'll take some time before all of the 3.0.12 patches migrate into it.
