Compile with apxs... First make sure you have compiled apache with shared.. ./configure --prefix=/path/to/apache \ --enable-share-max Then whenever you compile a PHP build use ./configure --with-apxs=/path/to/apache/bin/apxs Then you'll have to mess about with the httpd.conf a bit if the name of the php*.so file has changed... I think that's how to do it. Please correct if I'm wrong, but that works for me. I've only compiled apache once and php4 about 20 times... each time it worked with apache. ----- Original Message ----- From: Ernest Beinrohr - OERNii <oernii@oernii.sk> To: <php4beta@lists.php.net> Sent: Tuesday, August 31, 1999 5:18 PM Subject: [PHP4BETA] apache and php integration > hi, I know this is not a beta question, but .... > > I have apache(with mod_ssl,mod_...) and php4b (with freetype,mysql, ...). > Now, i have a problem, Everytimes a new php comes out, i wanna to use it. > But i have to compile it and then compile the whole apache monstrum again. > Is it not possible to compile php independently from apache ? i mean, > compile php copy it somewhere, killall -1 httpd, and apache runs with new php, > without to having recompiling apache ?? > > thx for some ideas > > -- > @@@@@@ @@@@@@@@ @@@@@@@ @@@ @@@ @@@ @@@ > @@! @@@ @@! @@! @@@ @@!@!@@@ @@@ @@@ > !@! !!! !!!!!: !!@!@! !@! !!! !!! !!! > :!: !:! :!: :!: !:! :!: !:! :!: :!: > : : : : :: :: : : : :: : : : > ==============---------------------------------- > OERNii - Ernest Beinrohr > mailto:oernii@oernii.sk > http://www.oernii.sk > #holubnik on IRCNET > ICQ No : 28153343 > > -- > PHP 4 Beta >
