I cleaned out pdflib from anywhere it was installed, re-installed it to /usr/local/lib. PHP4 (latest CVS) still couldn't find it... so I symlinked /usr/local/lib/pdflib2.01.so to /usr/local/lib/pdflib.so and PHP4 configure found it! YAY! So... then I was getting errors saying undefined reference to 'deflate' undefined reference to 'TIFFsomethingorother' So... I deleted the shared libraries, compiled pdflib using --with-static so it would include the tiff and jpeg libraries, and installed it... and symlinked pdflib2.01.a to pdflib.a... ok.. the TIFF errors went away, but I was still getting: undefined reference to 'deflate' So... I assume the pdflib isn't getting zlib statically compiled into it, and since the configure script in php isn't including it when it does the test for PDF_close it is failing... Anyways... what I did in order to get PHP to compile is I added -lz to the LIBS="-lpdf $LIBS" (around line 10534 in my configure script)... and everything compiled. So... now I have installed it into apache using apxs (DSO) and I get the error... Cannot load /usr/lib/apache/libphp4.so into server: /usr/lib/apache/libphp4.so: undefined symbol: pdf_module_entry Apache 1.3.9 w/ DSO, Redhat 6.0, PHP from today (Sept. 17, 1999), 5 Mountain Dews, and a stick of butter... Any suggestions? I have attached my config.log and config.status for reference... thanks for your help! -jade
