Hi,
Glad to hear you guys are in touch with Zeus. I'm really suprised to hear it is not multi-threaded. Everything I've ever read about Zeus has indicated it's multi-threaded. In fact, I've just dug the following snippet our of a the PHP3 archive from a post talking about PHP3, ISAPI and Zeus:
"At least on Linux it uses userspace threads, so I assume it's pthreads. " - Alex Belits
Of course, the guys at Zeus have the "inside info", and so if you're in touch with them, then so do you :)
Thanks for a great product.
- Mark

As some of you know, Zeus (a Unix-based multithreaded webserver - possibly the world's fastest) supports the ISAPI interface (and more recently, the NSAPI interface, although I think they mention that ISAPI is faster/better). Zeus is not OpenSource, but does support Linux, as well as all major Unices. It seems to have some great features, but this is not intended to a Zeus vs. Apache thread - simply a ISAPI/Zeus PHP4 question. FYI, I believe the Zope ISAPI module now supports Zeus (on Unix). hi, we're in contact with them - actually the current zeus version is (believe it or not) not multithreded! that makes it a no-go for php. but it's still a blazing fast web-server! the good news is that they will have a multi-threaded ISAPI extension that communicates via IPC with the main-server soon, and they will give us early access to that. so we still believe/hope/know that there will be zeus-ISAPI support soon(er or later). regards, tc - Mark -- PHP 4 BetaThies C.
