Let me suggest that somebody, who is very familiar with the last patches, will choose a point of time from the recent days when the code was more stable than usually with CVS, and build a ".tar.gz" snapshot (already autoconfed). This will help not only newbies, but also people who are not sure when the CVS is safe (more of less, of course) and when it is broken/mid-version. Of course, it is useless if it is put in a secret place, like now (where is it?). It can be done not only by somebody with access permission to the FTP server of PHP, but also by another expert, by uploading it into another FTP server, and posting the URL to this list. Somebody else will probably copy it into the official server. -- Eli Marmor
