It's just a delay on flushing the buffer to the browser?Since the output buffering layer of buffering isn't necessary at all for performance reasons (there are several other layers of buffering already featured by the operating system and system libraries), the overhead of buffering is counted as a complete performance loss, as it doesn't gain you anything in return. In more simple terms, instead of just sending stuff through IO, you save it in memory structures, and only at the end you send it through IO. The overhead involved in saving it in the memory structures imposes a slight performance loss. Zeev -- Zeev Suraski <zeev@zend.com> http://www.zend.com/
