Nope im afraid that that would be the easy way out :) these scripts dont use shared memory .... one small script i use does, but its memory footprint is normal. Also as the top i send u guys a while back would show, of the +/- 7000k, only about 1300 is shared (copy on write, cloning executable etc). -- Chris --------------------------------------------- Chris Chabot CTO, The Reviewboard Magazine Phone +31-20-4199747 Mobile +31-6-29048646 e-mail: chabotc@reviewboard.com --------------------------------------------- ----- Original Message ----- From: Andi Gutmans <andi@zend.com> To: Chris Chabot <chabotc@reviewboard.com> Cc: Sascha Schumann <sascha@schumann.cx>; <php4beta@lists.php.net> Sent: Monday, November 15, 1999 18:59 Subject: Re: [PHP4BETA] PHP 4.0b3-RC5 released > Any chance your memory consumption problem is partially due to what you're > using shared memory for?(I saw the --with-sysvshm in your configure line) > > Andi > > On Mon, 15 Nov 1999, Chris Chabot wrote: > > > Total success on apache 1.3.9 / php 4b3 rc5 ... > > > > configure: > > ./configure --disable-debug --enable-sysvsem \ > > --enable-sysvshm --enable-track-vars --with-zlib --with-mysql=/usr/local > > \ > > --with-gettext --with-gd --with-ttf --with-apache=../apache_1.3.9 \ > > --with-readline --with-ftp --with-mcrypt --with-mhash --disable-inline > > > > > > Memory problem as described in previous emails is still the same, but > > release functions well > > > > -- Chris > > > > Sascha Schumann wrote: > > > > > PHP 4.0b3 release candidate 5 has been released.
