Serializing arrays is a Really Cool Thing (tm), and I'm using it
alot on easyDNS and elsewhere. I don't care too much about
serializing object methods, just the data is fine. Currently,
it's the best and quickest way (IMHO) to move arrays around
between pages, and makes session management a lot easier.
If you're looking for something to think about, however, on my
wish-list of Things That Would Be Really Really Cool (tm), is
for the Zend engine that will go into MySQL to allow things like:
SELECT * FROM table WHERE data["array"][1]='foobar';
i.e. being able to unserialize a text field (named "data" in the
above example) on the fly, and search/sort on that data directly
in MySQL.
Just wishing ... :)
