Generally, people should do a 'cvs diff' before they commit
changes and read the diff through completely. That a) kills
silly typos and b) avoids committing unwanted changes.
That's true on a general basis, but it's also true that files on the CVS must never be updated automatically, unless it's ok for them to update automatically. In a computer world composed of just us humans, having it differently would be begging for trouble.
