I was the one reporting the bug (Full Bug description available at:
http://bugs.php.net/version4/?id=2866)
There was some response from Sascha Schumann. He had me test a patch which
unfortunately didn't help. After that he said he had something else for me
to test, but I haven't heard from him since. (30/Dec).
Of course it's not *proved* to be an SMP-related bug, but so far it seems to
only have turned up on SMP Linux machines. In fact, almost nothing is proved
in the matter, the backtrace I sent doesn't appear to have helped trace the
bug.
The only facts are that it, apparently at random, crashes the main httpd
process, effectively killing Apache, and that it's extremely annoying for us
running SMP (with many users).
I'll be anticipating Saschas response for a few more days. I have no idea
what to do, maybe it's time to involve som Apache developer and/or SMP
kernel people?
Best regards,
