To elaborate on this bug report, it's not just crypt. The problem I have
found recently is that configure fails any tests for libraries when it
checks for functions in those libraries. Examples are:
- Unable to find crypt() in libcrypt
- Unable to find any gd functions in libgd
- Unable to find gdbm_open in libgdbm
- Unable to find libttf
- Unable to find jpeg_read_header in libjpeg
- Unable to find TIFFOpen in libtiff
- Unable to find PDF_close in libpdf
- Unable to find gzgets in libz
- Unable to find PQcmdTuples in libpq
Probably more. All of these libraries are properly installed and do
indeed contain the functions that configure determines they do not. The
exact same configure with 3.0.13 finds the above as it should. This was
tested with the cvs as of last night. My system is Mandrake 7.0 with
autoconf 2.14.1.
