Re: [PHP4BETA] fopen-wrapper not working (Invalid URL specified)

There are two problems that I am familiar with the url wrappers support that I think might be affecting you. The first is that the url-wrappers don't support proxy servers. I have a patch for last weeks cvs snapshot that adds http proxy server support so that you can fetch URLs that you would otherwise have to access via a proxy server. I will be sending it to the list once I clean it up a little bit and make sure it works with the latest snapshot. The other is that the url-wrappers support doesn't handle redirects. Normally, when you access a URL like http://www.php.net the server sends back a redirect to http://www.php.net/. Note the trailing '/'. This is not supported. To fetch this using the url-wrappers you need to include the trailing '/'. I have not looked into what it would take to support redirects yet. - Tim Taylor "Horst G.
