Mine is:
DirectoryIndex index.html index.shtml index.php index.php3
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
AddType application/x-httpd-php-source .phps
the mod_php4.c was compiled INTO httpd:
httpd -l
Compiled-in modules:
<other modules snipped>
mod_php4.c

Tried the phpinfo.php. It wanted to save. I saved it and
the text remained "<?php phpinfo(); ?>".
Sorry, not following you on the "read the html there". What
HTML? The file saved and it's the same as it is on the
server.
Is there some other way to track the fact that httpd is
SEEING .php the way that it should? httpd -l looks good.
Forcing a syntax error in the httpd.conf proves that its
using that when it starts up. Everything is pointing to
it working, yet it doesn't. I'm stumped here.
I appreciate the help Simon.
