Hi PHP experts:
I have spend a few hours trying to pin down a strange problem
that causes my script to return NOTHING.
(I get the "this page contains no data" from browser, even if
I have plain text before the 1st php tag)
It only occurs:
1) with the latest CVS php4-200002042045 (with redhat 6.0 and apache)
beta3 is OK;
2) only when variables_order="EGPCBS";
If I leave 'S' out, it's OK.
It certainly looks like the parser's error, since
the script is supposed to return a simple 'hello' on the first line.
But the script certainly executes on beta3 or with the 'S' left
out the variables_order.
I have narrowed it down to a while loop in a function, by moving the
'exit' statement down the script. Because this is inside an
application with pretty complex logic, I am so far unable to
produce a simple test case. (session + GET/POST + bunch of includes)
Questions for the experts:
1) any tools available to further track down the problem?
I have tried netcat with debugger.enabled = TRUE, but cannot
get it to work.
2) any suggestion as to how to track this down easier than
by placing 'exit' everywhere .... it's really painful
3) anyone else seen similiar problems, where php script simply
returns NOTHING, even though there are plain html code before
the first php tag.
Thanks,
Jay
