Hey Stewart, As per our previous conversation below off-list. I'm happy to work on the site news. I'd like to chat about it a bit more and then spec it out on the wiki, have people look over it and give their opinion (e.g: hannes). For dynamic site news, I think in the end would be manageable via edit.php.net but for now to keep it simple and realistic we'll try a different approach. I'll have to speak to yannick about reusing the ExtJS components on edit.php.net for something like edit.php.net/news or editnews.php.net, with a simple markdown or WYSIWYG editor. People with 'news karma' will only be able to update this accordingly. Even if it just writes to a text file in the repo like it usually does, but it's maintainable via a UI that'll be our goal here. Stewart, you mentioned "print_news" can you elaborate on that, were you meaning just storing the news in a raw array and just iterating over it? What's your thoughts here. Lets go for simple now and then comprehensive later. Cheers, Paul Dragoonis. On Thu, Jul 28, 2011 at 8:56 PM, Stewart Lord <stewey@ambitious.ca> wrote: > I was thinking much more basic.
