Derick Rethans wrote/: THis is not one of our sites, it's not even an official mirror. / You're right, Derick. In my haste, I copied the link from the wrong tab of my browser. The page I sent you to is a copy, even if it is not an avowed copy, of this page: http://us.php.net/manual/en/install.windows.building.php Which is, I assume, one of your sites. And where the links do not work. Tim wrote:/ The links for the windows build tools and the Windows DNS Resolver library do not work. They both appear twice on the page, and none of the links work.Instead of bringing up the respective download pages (or simply beginning the download), they take me to the Search page for PHP functions, reporting that functions going by those names do not exist. / I appreciate the page you sent me, though it refers to the "build tools" that you need in addition to the Windows SDK and Visual Studio... without providing a link to them. I can only assume that these are the same files that should have been linked on the page I have directed you to. Now, where I said this: /With PHP5 no longer bundling MySQL.../ And you responded: /That is of course non-sense. We bundle the mysql extension with every Windows build. / Well, I admit that I am only beginning to teach myself PHP, so I could very well be the idiot you believe me to be, but I am referring to the FAQ at... http://us.php.net/manual/en/faq.databases.php#faq.databases.mysql.php5 ...where it says that the MySQL client libraries are no longer included. I never said extensions. I see the php_mysql.dll file in my ext folder. I arrived at the need to build/compile PHP myself because I am still getting "function undefined" errors (as indicated in the FAQ as a potential side effect) even though I have enabled the extension in my php.ini file. Other research I did, which I acknowledge could be completely incorrect, led me to believe that because I don't have a MySQL section in my phpinfo() output, I need to compile the language myself. * But seeing as this is a conduit to the web-masters and not to support, I'm not asking for help with that particular problem; *I'm just asking that you fix the page I have pointed out to you. I just felt the need to explain myself in light of your condescension. Thanks, Tim R.
