Jumping from the RC to the latest snapshot does indeed appear to
have resolved the issue (thanks to Hannes for making the suggestion).
I'll leave it as-is for now, and if no more problems arise, I'll close
out the corresponding bug report on this issue over the weekend or on
Monday.
