Hi Nicole
Have you disabled named pipe connections to SQL Server? I've heard that
there's a bug in v4.x.x that causes PHP to always try to connect via a named
pipe.
The disabling of SQL Server named pipe connections is often done for
security reasons and I think some recent MS hotfixes will disable named pipe
connections so once they're installed then ka-boom no more SQL Server
connections...
Only workaround I know is to re-enable named pipe connections...
HTH

Subject: [PHP-WIN] Help w/ SQL Server 2k install for connecting with PHP
Hi,
I just setup SQL Server 2k on my machine (XPpro) and I am trying to connect
to the database I set up .. with PHP but I am getting this errror:
Warning: MS SQL message: Login failed for user 'sa'. Reason: Not associated
with a trusted SQL Server connection. (severity 14) in
c:\apache\htdocs\iabol_quebecor\dbcon.php on line 2
Warning: MS SQL: Unable to connect to server: aeon in
c:\apache\htdocs\iabol_quebecor\dbcon.php on line 2
Can't connect to AEON
Now, I set up the standard user as sa with blank password on my machine for
testing but it is not working. I am not incredibly savvy with SQL Server as
I should be by now. I haven't worked with it in a couple months. So, does
anyone have an idea what I need to do to the SQL Server configuration to get
it working? The agent is running, mssql.dll is enabled in php.ini, etc. It
must be some security setting I need to fix. Any suggestions??
Many thanks!
Nicole
