configuring xitami

Hi all.... new to this list, and php in general, I guess this is a typical newbie question, but ive tried checking the php faq documetation, and the xitami help files..... I followed the guidelines given in the xitami documentation to configure it, ive also edited the xitami.cfg file... and the php3.ini file in the windows folder. Problem is.... whenever i run a php-file i get "This program has performed an illegal operation...and so on". Does anhone have a clue as to where ive gone wrong? Cheers and such Martin J. Hagen
