Left pad $test with 250 zero's? Try $foo = sprintf("%'0250s",$test); if you want to right pad it try $foo = sprintf("%'0-250s",$test); You may want to use other characters $foo = sprintf("%'X250s",$test); // X can be a space or whatever Im not sure why PHP crashes, but hopefully this should do what you want it to do. I would suggest you raise a bug report on using sprintf("%250s",$test); since it causes a crash. mn -----Original Me ssage----- From: Danijel Ilisin [mailto:ilisin@gripp-partner.de] Sent: Thursday, August 17, 2000 8:14 PM To: Nold, Mark Subject: AW: cvs do the following... sprintf("%250s",$test); and tell me that it works... 4.01p2 Cheers, Danijel -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: Nold, Mark [mailto:Mark.Nold@normandy.com.au] Gesendet: Donnerstag, 17. So i got 3 dirs. Zend, php4 and TSRM. I then moved zend and tsrm to php4 dir. Then i added win32build and bcmath to package. But when i try to cimpile with vc6 it complains about missing header files. What am i doing wrong? Please help. I can't finish this project here because my code crashes :(( Danijel Ilisin
