I only caught some of this thread but i've found that sessions work the same
way under windows as they do on various unices. Ive also found that they
"simply behave as the manual leads me to expect".
What i havent looked at is whether session_destroy kills the session files.
But my understanding was that these get cleaned out by PHP due to some sort
of garbage collection set in the .ini files. If they dont then we have clean
em out if they become too
We do use sessions for login logout under multiple env's and have no
problems. If you (im not sure of the originator) need some more details i
could put something basic together to show a basic login / logout
methodology.

I have no answers but I have given up attempting to use the session
functions under Windows as a way to control login/logout, as they simply
behave as the manual leads me to expect.
