On 2000-09-01, Joey Garcia stated:

I promise I'll get the Oracle for windows/php4 tutorial out the door this
weekend! :)
What you probably need to do is go over to http://www.php4win.de/ and grab
their version of php4. It is compiled with OCI8 support. Using any old
php_oci8.dll you find on the w3 may not work, as the version of php4 you
have might be linked to the same oci8.dll version you get.
Once you install the version of php4 on the above site, be sure to add
these two lines into your httpd.conf file:
SetEnv TNS_ADMIN "D:\ora816\network\admin"
SetEnv ORACLE_HOME "D:\ora816"
[i also have this as well:
SetEnv NLS_DATE_FORMAT "YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS"
]
Obviously, substitute the correct drive/directory for the above two env
vars. *BUT* make sure both drives are local to your w3 server. If the
drive is a mounted network drive, apache will not honor the vars.
Also note that the version of php4 on php4win has been compiled for Oracle
8i [8.1.6], so you'll need that version of the client installed on your w3
server.
