You will need the php4 version of this dll, compiled with a specific release
of php4. Currently, a great working set of binaries and extensions is
available at php4win.de (quickly becoming the most popular place for
phpwin32 binaries). The latest release bins (php4.0.2) include tons of
extensions including php_oci8.dll (the oracle 8i extension for php4).
Note: YOU MUST INSTALL FULL PHP FROM THIS RELEASE - don't just copy the
php_oci8.dll from the zip into your existing extensions folder - it won't
work. These files are very specific to compilations of specific source
code, so you need a matching set of binaries in order for things to work.
Also, before you try installing anything else, make sure you have installed
the latest Oracle 8.1.6 client software. This is also necessary for getting
the php_oci8.dll extension working properly. Older Oracle clients won't
work.
