While someone has complained about PHP 4.0 being extremely slow under
Windows, we haven't been able to reproduce this behavior, and it appears
to be more or less as fast as its UNIX cousins.
However, in order to support an online community with hundreds of users,
you won't be able to rely on the stability of the ISAPI module at this
time. So, you'd have to use the CGI version, which will significantly
higher the load on your server.
All in all - you'd have to actually see if it does the job for you. I
don't think that too many people have done this before (but if someone
here has - by all means - say so :)
