Hello Andy,
First .. let me say that all install problems have been fixed up by
reading more messages here and else where. PHP group seems like a
pretty good place to be.
AH> Well, what do you mean by a "standard error page"? Are you getting a
AH> file-not-found error? Or do you see the source code of the file? Or do you
AH> see some other error message? Need more specifics.
STD error page I meant was the one the server brings up when it can't
do what you tell it. In this case it just brings up what tried to
launch etc. Sorry for being cryptic
AH> There are several DLLs that you MUST copy into your windows/system directory
AH> (for Win98) or winnt/system32 directory (WinNT/2K) - php4ts.dll and
AH> msvcrt.dll (if not already present). It is also recommended (as several
AH> installation types require this) that you put a single copy of php.ini in
AH> your windows (or winnt) directory - and don't have another copy in your
AH> installed php directory. There should ONLY be one copy of php.ini on your
AH> computer - this helps to alleviate "which php.ini is it reading" problems.
I actually got it going by simply being sure that extension_dir had
the correct pathing <sigh>. Sometimes the easiest .. What is it ..
Occims (sp) razor?
AH> Now, do you have BOTH an f:\winnt\system32 directory AND a c:\windows\system
AH> directory on the same machine? I guess that got me confused.
AH> Clarification?
Once again I was being cryptic .. i meant my desktop (f) and my laptop
(c)
AH> c:\php\php.exe myscript.php
The book I had didn't mention anything like that.
Once again .. thanks
