FTP routines

Hi
I am new to PHP but have installed Version 4 RC2 on an NT machine.
I can run basic PHP scripts and connect to ODBC databases but the FTP
routines are failing. I get Call to undefined function: ftp_connect()
etc.
Do I need to 'switch on' an ftp module in the ini file?
