Hello, I spoke to Frank (PHP developer), who I've copied on this message (I hope that's OK), some time ago about this problem. He mentioned that the CVS version of the php module would support this. The CVS version is at http://www.php.net/version4/cvs.php. I don't have the expertise to compile anything but Frank mentioned he would email me the module if requested. I never got around to asking him for it. Frank, do you mind sending us a copy for both PHP4 and PHP3? Looks like a lot of people are experiencing the same problem. -Flint -----Original Message----- From: Thomas [mailto:Yin.Yang@gmx.net] Sent: Tuesday, October 17, 2000 8:26 AM To: php-windows@lists.php.net Subject: Re: [PHP-WIN] Record size limit with MS SQL 7 Hello Stuart, You're not alone! I'm also using PHP 4.02 with MS-SQL 7.0, and I have that same problem. Due to the fact that I had in the past also the problem, that a varchar record (in MS-SQL up to 8,000 characters) was cutted off after 256 chars (or so, would have to look), and changing the datatype in the DB helped, .... sorry I'm chatting around :-).... In short: I assume that the developers took the limits of mySQL also for MSSQL70. I already wanted to write a "Bug-Report" (meaning posting in the dev-list :-), but the new release came inbetween. I'll intall the new version tonight, and if it doesn't solve the prob, we should act, because I don't know any bigger datatype in MS-SQL than text (2,147,483,647 chars), and so I haven't any idea for a workaround like that last time. But one BIG QUESTION: How can I check if the whole record > 4kB is in the Database, of if I didn't even get it in??
