Hello Stuart,
You're not alone! I'm also using PHP 4.02 with MS-SQL 7.0, and I have that
same problem. Due to the fact that I had in the past also the problem, that
a varchar record (in MS-SQL up to 8,000 characters) was cutted off after 256
chars (or so, would have to look), and changing the datatype in the DB
helped, .... sorry I'm chatting around :-)....
In short: I assume that the developers took the limits of mySQL also for
MSSQL70. I already wanted to write a "Bug-Report" (meaning posting in the
dev-list :-), but the new release came inbetween.
I'll intall the new version tonight, and if it doesn't solve the prob, we
should act, because I don't know any bigger datatype in MS-SQL than text
(2,147,483,647 chars), and so I haven't any idea for a workaround like that
last time.
But one BIG QUESTION: How can I check if the whole record > 4kB is in the
Database, of if I didn't even get it in??
Best regards,
Thomas
