Hi, Just a question in between this topic. Is it possible to use SMTP with Windows 2000 Professional to send mail using the mail() function? I'm not in a network but can connect by ISDN with my ISP. I have an email-account with my internet provider. I started the SMTP service. Applied the data that was given in this conversation (localhost etc). PHP comes back with : Failed to Receive in d:\inetpub\wwwroot\mail.php. Didn't get that problem, but I guess or either your not sending to a proper SMTP server or the from email address was not filled in? In your php.ini you should fill in the SMTP section: [mail function] SMTP = localhost ;for win32 only -> localhost is the IP-alias or address of the host your SMTP server is running sendmail_from = me@localhost.com ;for win32 only I hope this helps you! good luck! Yoeri. The mail does get sent okay. The problem is that the mail() fuction does not return correctly and it times out. Anyone have this problem?
