hi catalin,
i guess you work under nt4?!
my solution:
open command prompt, goto \system32
type
ren msvcrt.dll msvcrt.dll.old
then you have renamed the file, then copy the msvcrt.dll from php-directory
to \system32
it works on my maschine: nt4 server, sp6
