Great news!
I now have one NT Server4.0sp6a running apache 1.3.14 and Oracle 8.1.6
client installed as well as IIS4.0. I have both apache and IIS running in
both CGI modes and module/ISAPI modes with no problems that I can tell [so
far! :)].
I've only run phpinfo() so far, but they all state that OCI8 is running.
Maybe I'm celebrating too soon?
I have one php.ini file in my C:\winnt40 directory and have my file types
set so that .php files are CGI, and .php4 files are module/ISAPI. IIS is
running on port 8080 while apache is running on 80.
Oracle 8.1.6 client is installed in C:\ora816 while Oracle 8.0.5 *server*
is installed in C:\orant. Also, I've got MSSQL Server client side stuff
installed on this box as well as a MSSQL Server 6.5 *server* installed and
running.
I have two oracle home directories, which, so far, haven't been a problem,
but I still need to connect to a db...
....time passes....
Ok, just ran my test scripts in all 4 cases [apache cgi/module, iis
cgi/isapi] and was able to do transcations with the 8.1.6 database! Yipee!
Many thanks to Andy and to those waiting for the docs to do this. I just
refined a lot of things [Andy - I didn't touch the registry at all, so i'm
*very* curious on how IIS knew about which TNS names file to use and which
ORACLE_HOME to use].
More news tommorow....
