Helgi:
You can make a small program in Visual Basic (or any other language)
that will accept a command line parameter and then Execute the program
specified in the parameter. Why the middle man ? Well, when VB
executes a program, it simply launches it and then continues doing
whatever is next, like terminating and returning to PHP. After this,
the PHP script will be able to terminate and the application launched
by the VB program will be running normally. In your script you will
execute the VB program and supply as a parameter the name of the other
application.
